The committee is working away at the moment on several projects including sponsorship , 2011 race program including Nationals venues through to 2014 and Dinghy show. Whilst we don’t have these things set in stone yet we will bring you news when we do.
Some more immediate news and additions to the program as follows.
Ben Paton ( fixtures sec ) is organising an informal training weekend at Royal Lymington, this is very short notice being on the 18/19 Sept, all are welcome. Please contact Ben if you want to attend.
Following this we have the Tide Ride at Hayling 9/10th October — This is a two day short course style event. We have lobbied the club to have our course moved further into the harbour where the tide is less strong with hopefully less weed. The race area will be North of the club close to Thorney Island shore which usually means flat water also.
2010 / 11 Race calendar.
We are going to split our National Race program into two series — Our Summer program will consist of 5 to 7 events from April to September and a new winter circuit from October to March. We will publish the details when we have them, however Tide Ride 2010 will be event one of the 2010/11 winter series, other events are likely to include Bloody Mary, Grafam grand prix, Northampton’s Steve Nicholson trophy and Rutland’s Tiger Trophy. 5 events with 3 to count so those going to Belmont can still qualify, so thats no reason to miss the worlds !!!
We are also looking toward the Dinghy show and doing to do something a bit different on our stand but this is still in the ideas and costing stage, we may be looking for volunteers and to scrounge equipment but again I will report back when we have firmed up some detail.
Can those intending to do Belmont Let Ricky Tagg know ASAP as he is kindly organising shipping. We will only organise those wanting return shipping and we need to know your box size ( any make of boat welcome with any size box within reason)! It is intended to have the boats in Belmont by the 12th December.
End of season.
Last event of the year is the End of Season party which includes some sailing, also at Hayling — The plan is to have training aimed toward newcomers to foiling ( although all are welcome ) and some informal races. Also Dinner on Saturday evening. Helen Rollinson is organising this event which should be a good shake down before heading off to Aus ! Please contact Helen and let her know your coming, it will help enormously for Coaching and Dinner organisation.
Please keep your eye on the UK website for updates. We are hoping to unveil the 2011 Race program very soon.
Good Sailing,
Mike Lennon
UK IMCA President.

The class owns 5 4ft x 8ft flats giving a 12ft length with two 4ft reveals. Made of 4mm ply edged with 2x1in timber they might be useful as is or adaptable. Presently in store in Bristol.
Hi All,
Am thinking about getting a foiling moth after a 20yr break from sailing, where I’ve been windsurfing and kitesurfing. Live in West Essex, Are there any clubs near ish with Moths?
Hi Mike,
Theres a couple of fleets in Essex – try Thorpe Bay YC in Southend – also there were a couple sailing on the Blackwater – possibly Stone SC?
Cheers,
Cookie
