The Dinghy Show is over for another year, and it was a pretty good one. I’ve no feel for how many people were there, but it was definitely busy at times!
First of all a big thank you to all who helped, Phil for organising it all and manning the stand on Saturday, Jonnie Hutchcroft for helping build the stand, Cookie and Simon Propper for lending their beautiful boats and manning the stand and Alan Hilman, Leo and any others who I might have missed who turned up to help!
There was plenty of interest, with lots of people wanting to know what the latest gadgets had been added. And the video footage Cookie put together kept plenty of people mesmerised, many thanks to Pete Barton for letting us use his footage from Hayling.
We had a little more competition on the “cool boat ” stakes this year with Vestas Sailrocket out in the Foyer and Paul Larsen giving a great talk each day with some pretty awesome video footage (not that the ed is biased at all!)
The best comment I heard was from an American rep from Harken who said something along the lines of “Sailing a moth was more exciting than sailing BMW Oracle!” I think that just about sums it up!
